What is the printing process for packaging bags?

1、 Intaglio printing
Gravure printing is a plate making technique in which images are carved from the surface, and ink is directly filled into the pits of the gravure plate, which is then directly imprinted onto the substrate. The characteristic of gravure printing is that the ink layer is thick, clear, and has a strong three-dimensional sense. At the same time, gravure printing is carried by a separate pit that needs to be engraved on the product, which is not easy to imitate and forge, and has strong anti-counterfeiting properties.
Intaglio printing is mainly used for the printing of flexible packaging. Now it is widely used in food packaging bags and pharmaceutical packaging bags. Its substrate can be paper, plastic, or high-grade tin foil packaging paper.
2、 Lithography printing
Flat printing is a printing process developed based on the principle of mutual exclusion between oil and water. The flat printing plate does not have grooves, but each part is on a horizontal line. The printing part of the plate is ink friendly and water repellent, while the blank part is opposite. By selectively absorbing oil and water from different parts of the plate, it achieves water oil balance on the same plane. Flat printing, as it does not require carving on the surface of the printing plate, has a low cost and can handle a large number of packaging processing. The printed images and text are clear and complete.
Flat printing is suitable for printing products with rich graphics and text, such as picture albums, books, advertisements, newspapers, etc. It is widely used in the packaging field on various paper packaging boxes and handbags.
3、 Screen printing
Screen printing uses a screen perforated plate and printing material, and uses scraping printing to obtain graphics. During printing, ink is injected into one end of the screen printing plate, and a scraper is used to apply pressure to the ink area. At the same time, it evenly moves towards the other end of the screen, and the ink is squeezed onto the printed material from the mesh. The advantage of screen printing is that it can attach to various shapes of objects, so it can be printed on curved surfaces. At the same time, screen printing can use various inks and coatings to mix, such as light resistant pigments that can be mixed into the ink, making screen printed products have great advantages in light resistance.
Screen printing is widely used due to its strong adaptability, and almost all surface decorative materials such as clothing, shoes, appliances, ceramics, glass, and floor tiles are printed using screen printing. In the field of packaging, silk screen printing is commonly used for high-end packaging boxes and bottles, such as holiday gift boxes, cigarette boxes, wine boxes, etc.
4、 Letterpress printing
In contrast to intaglio printing, letterpress printing and intaglio printing have words and pictures on the printing plate protruding from the layout, which can be understood as a "big seal", but the "seal" mode has changed from manual operation to printer operation. The characteristic of letterpress printing is that the ink color is thick, and it also has good color rendering on rough substrates.
The letterpress printing has been applied to trademarks, newspapers and decoration materials, while in the packaging industry, it is mainly used for the printing of flexible packaging, such as cellophane, corrugated paper, paper bags, plastic packaging, etc.
